Help! I'm locked out. Should I call the Police?

Although every situation differs, you generally do not need to call the Police and wait for them to arrive before taking any action to get into your property.

I've just moved into a new home - do I need to change the locks?

A recent survey shows that 74% of homeowners do not change the locks after moving into their new home. Yet most insurance companies recommend that new home owners change the locks. It is a good opportunity to have the general security of your new home checked and to make sure that the locks are insurance grade. Again, your insurer may not pay out if the locks are not approved to BS 3621. With so much to do when moving house it can easily be put to the bottom of the list but we would recommend that this is done before you or your belongings move in. And before the decorators arrive!!

I've lost my car keys, can you help me?

Yes we can. Although security restrictions mean that there will be some procedures to follow before you can get back into your car.

Do you fix communal stair doors?

Yes we do. In fact fixing and installing communal doors to flats, stairs, etc are one of our more common jobs we do. As the first point of entry to the building, it frustrating to see so many Edinburgh tenement buildings are not properly secured, particularly when a decent lock can be fitted for around £300.00. Split this cost between the individual properties and it is even less expensive.
